The UPC is organising the 1st Competition to recognise the best AI projects across the various technological fields of its bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Are you ready to innovate with AI?

Present your innovative idea that uses artificial intelligence to improve an aspect of your field of study.

Do you want to win the award for the best project in your school and at UPC?

Rules

Can you participate individually or as a group?

Yes, individual or group projects of up to 3 students can be submitted.

If I participate individually, what do I need to submit?

If you participate individually, you can submit your Final Year Project (FYP) as your project. The TFE document will be sufficient as the documentation.

What happens if I want to participate in a group?

Group projects can have up to 3 students. You can team up with students from other ICT undergraduate or master's programs to assist with the artificial intelligence (AI) part.

What techniques should be used for the project?

The projects must use artificial intelligence (AI) techniques for their development.

Does the project need to be functional?

Yes, the projects must be implemented and functional in order to participate in the competition.

How can I sign up for the competition?

The registration must be done through the form on this website before the specified deadline.

What happens if you don’t have a team?

Contact us and we’ll help you find it!

Can the same project be submitted more than once?

No, participants and projects can only be submitted once to the competition.

What is the deadline for submitting the projects?

El termini per presentar els projectes finalitza el 15 November 2025.

Can I participate if I am not enrolled at UPC?

Yes, in group projects, one of the members can be a student from another university. The group representative must be enrolled at UPC.

Prizes

Who will evaluate the projects?

The projects will be evaluated by a jury consisting of professors and external individuals from the company.

What prizes are offered?

– Prize for the best projects from each Educational Institution
– Prize for the best overall projects from UPC

What prizes are offered at the level of each Educational Institution?

The prizes at the level of each Educational Institution are as follows:

– Prize for the best individual project from each Educational Institution, with an award of €500.

– Prize for the best collaborative project from each Educational Institution, with an award of €500.

Quins premis s’ofereixen a nivell global de la UPC?

The winners of the prizes at each Educational Institution level will automatically be eligible for the following global UPC prizes:

– Prize for the best global individual project at UPC, with an additional award of €1,500.

– Prize for the second-best global individual project at UPC, with an additional award of €500.

– Prize for the best global collaborative project at UPC, with an additional award of €3,000.

– Prize for the second-best global collaborative project at UPC, with an additional award of €1,500.

– Direct access to the EMPRÈN UPC technology-based project incubation program.

How are the prizes distributed in the case of group projects?

The prize will be awarded to the group representative, who will be responsible for distributing the prize among the team members.
